I offer my support for the 2009 Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Celebrations. I am honored to recognize an event that celebrates California's great diversity.

I applaud your efforts to promote the values of respect and equality while encouraging individuals to embrace and value each other's rights and privileges as members of society.

My commitment to furthering respect for all people in our schools and communities is bolstered by these events, and I wish you continued success with this year's events and all further endeavors.
